Is it really so, that Sketch cloud version control doesn’t have a capability to revert to an earlier version of the cloud file?
I had to download a previous version and replace the file manually, as “Revert to…” Had no options. (I’m guessing that only works with local files)

Thanks for joining and sharing this. There’s a way to revert to a previous version for Workspace documents, here are the steps:
This will effectively revert you to a previous version.
Local documents can have previous versions. You need to enable macOS Autosave on Sketch settings:
When Autosave is enabled, you’ll be able to use the option File → Revert to.
It’s also worth noting that you need to make and save changes locally for Autosave to pick them up and create a version, if you download a Workspace document version it will have no previous versions.
