This is probably a bit niche but I’d love to see a live preview on a selected piece of text when I’m scrolling and hovering list items in the typeface dropdown. The extra click required to apply a selection before I see it on the canvas becomes frustrating in the context of exploring multiple typeface or font options.
You can do this if you use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the typeface dropdown.

On top of what Brett mentioned, you can also use shortcuts to make it easier. Press ⌘T, then type the font’s name and if you change your mind, just press ⌥ ⇥ (Option + Tab) to search and select a different font.
