Sketch App Froze When Clicked Settings in "File" Option

I found this issue after upgraded to 2025.X version, and it cannot be fixed even change versions between 2025.1 and 2025.3

I’ve tried to reinstall the app but the issue is still there.

Meanwhile, my account was signed out with no reason. The only one solution is go to the web version Workspace, open anyone file and the log-in window will popup in the app. After I logged in to my Sketch, the app will freeze again every time when I click settings in “File“ option. Here is some info for your reference":

  • Operation system: macOS Tahoe 26 Public Beta
  • Device: MacBook Pro 14-inch M1 Max Chip (2021)

It seems like a glitch and I have to log-in to my Sketch app through website (which is annoying). Please take your time to look through this issue and let me know what can I do on my end.

Hi @yujunmjiang, and welcome. I think this may be because you’re using the Tahoe beta, we’ve seen some cases of the Settings window becoming unresponsive.

We have a fix for this in the 2025.2 Barcelona update, which is currently in beta. You could try downloading the beta and trying it out: sketch.com/beta. Please be mindful of the warnings in that page, this is beta software.

If the issue is still occurring in the beta, please let us know. Generally, we recommend sticking with non-beta versions of macOS. We’ll be making sure Sketch runs well on macOS Tahoe when it releases, but as it’s still in beta, there can be issues — this isn’t the only one we’ve been fixing.
