About a month ago, you rolled out a great feature where, in the web view during handoff, we could download any asset without needing to mark each one as exportable. I noticed that this option isn’t available anymore—could you let me know what happened? It’s starting to get a bit frustrating. Thanks!
Hi @damiandmowski, the feature is still available, you should see the export button when you select a layer.
If the file doesn’t have any layers marked as exportable you may see that text when you open the document, but you should be able to export assets when you select a layer.
If the problem persists, can you share your document link with us to our support email: productsupport@sketch.com ?
Please activate Support Access so we can see the document.
Many thanks in advance.
Do I need to be logged in to use this “download feature” ?
Yes, that’s correct.
If you’re not signed in and even if the file is public, you’ll only have access to downloading assets marked as such in the document, but you won’t see the “Export as” button.
Got ya! Any chance this will change in the future? What was the thinking behind the decision?
Hi Damian,
Yes! We want to change this in the future and make it available regardless of being signed in or not. We’ve added it to the list.
Thanks so much for answering all my questions!
Our pleasure. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Damian,
Good news! It’s done! Now you can export any assets from the Web app, even if you’re not signed in!
Just make sure that the file has Inspect and Download
permissions and you’re good to go!
Thanks for reporting this!
Wow, that was super quick! Thanks so much for getting back to me so fast!
The team made the magic happen! I’ll share your kind words with them as well!
