Yeah, you can use a custom shortcut for any menu item in any app.
Just go to System Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > App Shortcuts and add the one you want. You can learn more details about the process in this support article on Apple’s site.
I’m sorry you feel this is a step back in your productivity. Now, instead of having to enter the bitmap edition mode and double-click, you can select the bitmap and use the new tool directly, either via a shortcut, the menu, or the Command Bar.
We believe in centralizing tools in the menus so you can have access through the menus themselves, custom shortcuts, or the Command Bar. I encourage you to try and get used to it for a bit so you can see the benefits we’re seeing as well. Give it a try and let us know!
