Zooming does not always work correctly.
For me, it often happens when I try to zoom and pass over the frame.

I can see that you first draw a selection box over the frame, which won’t zoom, and then the actual zoom is done on the upper right part, beyond the frame.
That’s why the zoom feels like it goes past the frame. But in this case, it’s the expected result given the actual zoom area you defined
This unexpected behavior is the result of a delay in activating the zoom feature. There are performance issues, at least on older Macs. I will test it later on an M2 Max to see if I encounter these issues.
The file in the video only has one page. This feels more like the combination of two actions:
- drawing a selection box with click + drag first
- adding the zoom tool (the Z key) later
Yes, I have only one page. With a larger document it’s even more obvious. It’s very easy to make mistakes. The only solution is to work very slooooowly.

I tested it on a faster machine, and it worked fine. I suppose the Sketch app is not optimized for older devices.
