I don’t recall any issue related to data in Athens. Could we have a document and a text file to take a look at? The file doesn’t need to be the entire doc, just contain some sample components to fill with data.
If you prefer, you can attach them to an email to productsupport@sketch.com if you don’t want to share the document publicly.
We’ve received the email from @jamesdellar, and I could reproduce the issue. We’re working to solve it in a future update.
Fortunately, there’s a workaround, as this issue only occurs if you select the particular text override. If you select the whole Symbol, these Data buttons will work as expected:

Thanks @JorgeF, there are quite a few data fields that I need to update and this works well on a cell by cell basis as a work around but not a bulk edit at this time.

Hey,
I am having trouble filling the symbols with data. As you can see in the video, data is not applied to the text within the symbol. I’m having two issue. All overrides are on inside in symbols.
- I can’t apply data to symbol as a bulk.
- Sometimes data is not applying in override panel.
Sketch version: 2025.1.4 (203504)

We’ve fixed some issues related to Data in Barcelona (2025.2, now in Beta). I
Inspired by your video, I did a quick test and managed to apply data using the override panel in Beta.
Could you try it and let us know if the issue persists in that version?

Hey Cris thank you. 2nd issue is solved. I can apply individually.
But If I select symbols inside symbol and try to import data it’s not working. Am I doing something wrong, or is Sketch not working this way? You can try from here: Sketch
