Scale Keystroke Combo (K - Numbers - Enter)

Hey there,

This is a small detail that would save me a lot of time (and hopefully others).

Coming from Blender, I am really used to keystroke combos.
For example, after a transform shortcut (G for translate, S for scale, R for rotate), the user can enter numbers as inputs for the command, followed by enter for confirmation.
ie. [S] - [0] - [.] - [1] will scale the selected object to 10%

In sketch, we can use [K] for scale.
If the right panel is open, the % input is auto-focused (amazing detail) which can then be followed by [enter] to confirm.
This is pretty much the same than in Blender, and it’s something I do all the time.

Buuuuuut, if the right panel is not open, this doesn’t work.
Any chance we could make this happen also in this case?

I know it might not be the most common use case, but I personally do this several times per session.

Thanks for making this amazing software!

We’d like this for sure. We’ve toyed with an idea like this in the past, and more recently discussed ways we could use the Command Bar (⌘K) interface to accept this kind of parametric input. So there’s a chance, but we’ve got some big fish to fry at the moment, the top of the list of things to do is quite big.

Thanks for your quick answer, and great to hear you already thought about this.

I can understand this is not a priority, but I wanted to send a note anyway

In my opinion, I’d keep it outside the Command Bar.
The point would be to turn a super common operation into something as fast as possible.

The way I see it Command Bar is more for things that I know are possible, but for which I don’t know the Shortcut.

That’s how I use Blender at least:

  • If it’s something I do all the time (several times per session), I know the shortcut.
  • If it’s something I do less often (once every few sessions), I do spacebar (similar to ⌘K in Sketch) and I find by name.
