Out of curiosity for the new version, I tried the latest [2025.3] release. The interface was indeed a breath of fresh air. However, since my workflow requires the use of an internal, company-developed plugin to upload finished design drafts, I encountered a compatibility issue—the plugin doesn’t work with the new Sketch version. This forced me to revert to an older version. Unfortunately, this led to a disastrous situation: when I reopened the documents I had edited in the new version using the older one, all the layer styles became completely corrupted! This essentially ruined a full day’s work and several long-accumulated source material files.
The specific result is as shown in the attached images: the layers are all still there, but the layer styles are all malfunctioning.
May I ask if there is any way to recover these corrupted source files?

I’m sorry you’re experiencing issues with your internal plugin and recovering this file.
First of all, we would like to encourage your company to update your plugin. We offer updated documentation to help you continue working with the latest versions of Sketch. Additionally, we have the Plugins and Integrations section in this very same forum to help you with any issues you may encounter during the process.
About the recovery of the file, it depends. If this is a document you had in your workspace, you can download a previous version of the document and then upload it as a new one.
If the file is in your workspace, the steps to follow would be:
Open the document in your workspace. Just go to the web app and navigate to this document.
Open the versions of this document. It’s this icon:
Now, with that new version on your Mac, open it with the version of Sketch you choose, then just save the changes. It will overwrite the latest version available and revert it back to a previous state.
In case you’re using a local document, your mileage may vary. macOS has a native versioning system that Sketch uses. You can look for previous versions in File > Revert To. For this one to work you need to have worked on this document on the same Mac all the time, as the versions are not stored within the document, but within macOS. Also, this option only works if this setting in Sketch > Settings > General has been activated beforehand (it is by default):
