Prototype comments: show all comments and enable scroll

When in the prototype view I can only see comment pins and comments in the ‘list view’ that are placed on the prototype in the current viewport. I can’t scroll up or down to see other comments, because the viewport is locked. I have to disable comment mode to scroll, and that makes it easy to miss comments placed in other positions on the page because there is no visual indication of comments anymore. I have to enable comment mode again to see the comment pins… Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it works?

Wouldn’t it be easier to just be able to scroll the entire page in comment mode and show all comments and pins (just like InVision)? Also an anchor scroll to the comment pin on the prototype when clicking the comment in the list would be a nice addition…

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, @justinpicard :megaphone:

We have actually just been looking into improving the interaction with annotations in the prototype player, specifically in scrolling areas.

However, it’s not such a simple fix, and we need to tackle several things first to support scrolling while in annotation mode while avoiding annotation interactions from clashing with prototype interactions. In the meantime, we’ve opted for the most stable user experience while we ponder and experiment with how to improve this.

If you (or any one else reading along) are having trouble spotting annotations, it’s worth knowing that the ones you see in the prototype player are attached to the Artboards that make up your prototype. This means you can easily see all the annotations on the canvas, making it a lot easier to find any that might be a bit tricky to spot. :magnifying_glass_tilted_left:
