New Mac beta: 2025.1 (Athens) available now

I think it used to make sense with artboards, but it no longer does with frames. I’m using frames even for smaller UI elements now and I’m often drawing them on the side of the “screen” they will go in – on the canvas – where there’s more space to duplicate and iterate variations. I couldn’t figure out on my own why the option to use the symbols page was not always available.

About stack paddings I would have expected that they follow the nudging increment setting, like they do for X, Y, height, and width. As they are now, they increment by - + 10px despite my preference being 8px.

@wwwedran No pressure at all  This is the current length of the release notes. There is a lot to communicate.

Yeah, this is a bit overwhelming. But it’s also fun to introduce so many great updates and features that you’ve been working on for so long

I still have this old bug in which the objects inside frames are displaced when hiding/unhiding parent frame.

Just went to check a file in the web viewer and it does not recognise my prototype, is this a known limitation? Also ran into the bug with the new scrolling frames, out of interest is there a rough eta for a fix?

Hey there, could you link us that? Definitely something we’d like to get on top of before release if we can replicate :eyes:

I’ll DM you

There always seems to be one latest version of the document that is not immediately updated when opening web interface and I have to click the refresh button on the top. That has always been the case for me. I can force it by starring it but I’d feel better if the web version was always up to date. I haven’t been using larger documents for a while so not sure if that is an even bigger issue on those.

Scrolling isn’t working for me in the web app either.

Web app still mentions artboards, not sure of that’s something you will change with release to not confuse current users earlier, but just mentioning.

Yep! Part of our release plans is to tackle all these mentions in the web app as well. If you pin-pointed something, do share the link and we’ll triple-check, just in case! :folded_hands:

Can’t wait.

I am curious to see how old Sketch users will receive it, mostly those who are intensively using Figma, facing price increase, and who might also be worried by recent announcements made at Config 2025.

Hey! Since the last two beta updates, a Sketch file from my local drive keeps opening up every time I start up. Is there a way to remove this ‘feature’? Thanks!

Hey!

Could you try to perform a clean reinstall of the app? From the event itself it seems like some of the preferences file might be corrupted, or the app might be having trouble writing to it (so it doesn’t open the document again if you manually close it).

You can follow this quick guide here to reinstall.

Let us know!

is there a bug with the prototyping and artboard preset sizes? I have an artboard set to iphone15 pro max, and yet where I’ve extended the size to make content further down the page, it doesn’t keep the iphone size in the prototype window, making the transitions through the screens look all over the place as it is fitting them in rather than maintaining the iphone set height and we’d then expect to just scroll down to view the content lower

@dale Please see this reply: New Mac beta: 2025.1 (Athens) available now - #312 by paulozoom

also noticing the prototype window cutting off content. All these say mm at the end of each size, but in the prototype window it crops the text

Hi @dale, can you share a sample file to our support address so we can take a closer look?

Thanks!

nice found it, would be cool if that was default if we have picked a specific one
