I prefer snap-to-grid (and love that I can choose half and quarter pixel, too) but I would love it if there was a key I could hold down that would allow me to move layers freely when I need to. Without having to change the preference and then change it back.

Some of that previous feedback we have received also requests for a menu item, so the option can be activated with a Keyboard Shortcut. We’ll add your details to the on-going request we have on our side so the team receives this extra bit of context.
