Inconsistent behaviour with object swapping

I’ve noticed an inconsistency with the handles appearing when selecting a group of evenly spaced or grid spaced objects. Sometimes when they are selected the handles for position swapping and gap adjustments appear. Once you’ve made a change, the handles disappear and reselecting the same objects won’t reliably show the handles again. I’ve attached a video that might demonstrate this better.

Hello there, @Ash Ash

Thanks a lot for posting this issue. We will be happy to review this.

I’ve been trying to reproduce this on my end, but it seems the handles remain there after moving around any of the elements in the grid:

Is this happening in the latest Sketch version (100.1) and macOS? I’ve also tried to replicate this using previous versions of Sketch and the macOS, but no dice either.

Does this happen in any new file that is created from scratch? Another thing worth trying would be using Sketch in Safe Mode and see how it behaves!

Let us know how it goes

Hey, yeah it’s odd. I went back and couldn’t reproduce it again.

I deleted those shapes, made new ones and it was working as expected. The only thing I can think is, these weren’t ellipses, they were rounded rectangles? But tried that too and it still didn’t happen again, extremely odd.

Indeed!

We all tried it (3 of us!) different machines, different configs and all, and couldn’t replicate. Myabe it was one of those rare cases :bulb:

Do let us know if it happens again and we’ll make sure to check it out

Yeah, if I can ever replicate it again, I’ll be sure to save the file and scrutinise it a little more.

We would love to hear back from you if that happens again!

We will still perform some extra tests, so we will keep you updated if we discover something.

Cheers!
