So I am new to sketch and have been playing around, and one feature that I find missing or unable to find yet, is there is no text truncate option. I would really like to know if this is already available, if not could this be added as a feature request.
By the way, I am exploring Sketch after using Figma, and I really love the native feel.

Your post reminded me of a great plugin made specifically for truncating text: GitHub - KevinGutowski/Truncat: A Sketch plugin to truncate text.
Unfortunately the plugin doesn’t support modern Sketch versions, BUT I think I managed to fix most of the compatibility issues. Please feel free to try this new version of the plugin and let me know if it works for you:
