I’m pretty sure this used to work? In the past I was able to drag a device template from the sidebar into my canvas, and this now does nothing. Clicking a template adds the artboard but at a totally random position on my canvas instead.

I have been trying to reproduce this issue with both our last Final version, 101.8, and with our Public Beta, and I’ve always been able to drag and drop the Artboard teamplates. See this gif here, using 101.8:
Could you show a video recording of the issue in action? Perhaps there’s something we can spot that could be causing this issue.

Thank you for sending the video—it’s much appreciated. I’ve been investigating this issue, and it seems it was caused by Sequoia. The video I posted was recorded using Sonoma, and I can reproduce it using the newer OS.
The good news is that we have already spotted this issue, and we’ve already fixed it in our latest public Beta, where it works as expected, no matter the OS.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to say when we’ll release the new version, so for now, the workaround is to add Artboard templates by double-clicking on them, sorry.
