Is there a way to create an ‘artboard from a selection’, i.e. and svg or JPG that you’ve just dropped into Sketch? There was such a tool available within the ‘Automate’ plugin, but the feature no longer appears to work on that plugin with this latest version of Sketch.

Select your layer, then open the Artboard tool by pressing A. You’ll find a “New from Selection” button at the top of the list of templates in the inspector. Click that, and it’ll wrap your selection in an artboard.
Unfortunately, there’s no shortcut for this, but our next major release will have a shortcut for it.
Thank you for that, Paulo. One further question, is there ‘artboards from selections’, so if i had two disconnected objects selected, I’d be able to create two separate artboards from them? Basically for if I dropped 50+ items into Sketch to then mass-convert them to artboards.
