Link from artboard to artboard in cloud

At the moment when I want to see an artboard in Sketch Cloud I have to open the cloud project and then navigate to my artboard.

It would be nice to right click on the artboard and go directly to the artboard in the cloud

Upvoted! This would be useful for me as well. An example I can think of is I might be showing one of our developers a screen in the mac app, but I want to jump to the web app version to show it how they would see it. So being able to go directly from the mac app to the web app version would be quite useful.

Thanks for the feedback @Martin :speech_balloon:

We are always looking for ways in which we can continue to reduce the boundaries between our apps, including better deep-linking as you’ve suggested! :link: This is certainly something we are keen to implement, and we are actively discussing it internally.

This is similar to what I was requesting here as well - Follow prototype links on the Sketch Cloud canvas - #2 by Xhaust

I would prefer two options:

  • View Artboard in Browser
  • Copy Link to Artbboard

I think I misunderstood what that other post was about initially, which is evident now looking back on my comments on that post.

So I guess yea, we can close/merge this request to the other, which ultimately says what I think would be beneficial (options added to right click on an artboard)…

I would prefer two options:

View Artboard in Browser
Copy Link to Artbboard

We’re trying to slowly transition from Zeplin to Sketch Cloud for dev handoff and one paint point we have at the moment is how we communicate changes to developers on Slack. The way Zeplin worked is it would automatically post a Slack message with a link to the artboard that was changed. I’m not asking for a Slack integration yet but it would be great to be able to easily get links to specific artboards from the Mac app. Right now we have to go to the web document and find the artboard to get that link. It would be great if we could get that link directly from the artboard textual menu (Screenshot below).

Sorry, I forgot to answer the most important question: when will we start working on this? The short answer is: soon. We just need to wrap up a couple of other things first.

Sketch.app offers a way to get a link to the document if it exists in Sketch Cloud, which is great. Would also be great if you could get a link to a specific artboard from within Sketch.app as well (unless this already exists and I have missed it?).

Hey @sonburn,

Do you mean something similar as described in this post?

The link “View in browser…” or “Copy link” are generic as they lead to the first page of the online document.

What Sketch should do :

  • remember which page I am displaying
  • or remember which symbol or frame I have selected so that I can share a direct link to that precise selection .

The result : unique link that goes directly to the page or the selected item.

The gain : Stop spending time browsing the online document to find what I want to view or share.

Hi Victor, thanks for sharing this!

This is on the Product Team’s radar! No specific dates to work on it yet though.

Title says it all, sometimes I just want to share a specific artboard with a dev and right now I need to do:

  • View document in Browser
  • Go find the actual artboard
  • Click on it
  • Copy paste the link

It would be great if I could just do “View artboard on Sketch Cloud” by right clicking on an artboard, or even better “Copy link to Sketch Cloud artboard”

I’ve merged a couple of similar cases here. It might feel a bit odd to read the thread now, with all the request mixed up, but at least we have everything in one place
