When a project is large and involves multiple layers, using color-coded layers makes it easier to identify and manage them visually. This concept is illustrated in the provided images. Additionally, a tag menu could be incorporated into the right-click menu for improved functionality.

There used to be a plugin that somewhat achieved what you are looking for @nzmb
I dont think it has been updated or supported for years but maybe there is something @jonne and the team could look at.

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, it seems they stopped a long time ago, as the download link is removed. Moreover, installing such a huge plugin for a simple addition is not worth it. I believe this feature would improve working with layers and should be a native function in the app.
