Canvas Organizer

How do you organize your symbols/frames in Sketch? I used to organize mine with the Symbol Organizer Sketch Plugin but (as you know) it’s no longer compatible.

I’m aware that the Components view allows browsing and searching for symbols, and it’s useful for grouping and renaming. But it’s not the source of symbols, you can’t edit symbols there — can’t actually do the real work.

For example, I often need to edit multiple variants or sizes of a symbol at the same time.

As a Sketch user, I can collect symbols in three ways:

Case 1. On the Symbols Page
Case 2. On Some pages
Case 3. A mix: Symbols Page + Some pages

This flexibility might work for some, but managing 1k+ symbols without any tool support — either a plugin or a built-in feature — is a real pain.
On the Symbols page and/or other pages, every frame and symbol has to be placed and organized on the canvas manually.

Just to clarify: using Arrange → Align / Make Grid / Distribute isn’t organizing. There are no headings, no structure, no logic, no presets — nothing to help make sense of complex libraries.
I need to sort, filter, and edit symbols — all directly on the canvas. Sometime, I need to be more Excel-like.

I’m posting this as an issue because that’s genuinely how it feels.
Until symbols/components are editable only when they’re present on the canvas, we need a tool to help manage and organize them on the canvas itself.

Ironically, after writing all of this, I had a realization: maybe we don’t actually need a Components view.
What we need is a tool for tidying and organizing what’s already on the canvas. Structuring and managing frames/symbols on the canvas is the real problem that needs solving. And the Components view? It feels more like a workaround than a real solution.?
