Adding a hyperlink in a sketch doc or prototype

I’d looked into this a while ago but it’s not supported. It would be a really useful feature to add for a number of reasons - links to supporting docs or Jiras for example.

Well it hit me today - there is a workaround;

  • place a label describing the link on the artboard.. and beside it add a comment that contains the link inside it. (use the Insert > Comment)
  • works for me!

Thanks for this OP @bman !
This helped as I was frustrated looking for ways to Add a decent text that is a link to add a quick shortcut for a Design and Dev context in case of discussions.
It would really help our workflow and communications especially in a hybrid team.

I still find this “solution” as not the most elegant way to do this (comparing with Figma… and Canva! -yes, Canva can do this exactly) for documentation purposes.

A bit disappointed really after finding out in here in the forums that this feature used to work until a certain update happened. (Request to @sketchy: please bring this feature back!!)
Oh well, until we switch, I’ll have to tag along with this ‘band aid’ solution.

Hi @caryl

It’s worth mentioning that we’ve never had hyperlinks in documents or prototypes, just in PDF exports. Of course, we want to add it.
