Issues started in the latest version of Sketch when you introduced improvements to how Tidy works. Now it forces center alignment even when all elements are already left aligned and it is unusable unless putting values directly in the input fields.

The team is aware of this one and exploring options to improve it. As you mention, Tidy now deals with spacing and alignment, which can be useful in some scenarios but affect others.
