Reduce File Size - (option to opt-out specific images/layers)

Would be a nice feature to be able to exclude certain layers images from the “reduce file size”.

I have some small logos/icons that I am using large images as I am unable to access them in .SVG format but each time i reduce file size it pixelates them. Would be ncie to add some some of suffix “–rfs-ignore” to the layer to have “reduce file size” ignore that particular image.

Hi Mark.
I’m taking a note of this suggestion as something to consider, but in the meantime, I’m not sure if you’re aware, you can reduce the size of large images on a one-by-one basis, if you’re using them at small dimensions.
Sure, being able to do all of them in one go is a handy option, but this could still prove useful to your situation.

Thanks Brett. The project I have is very image heavy, large hi-res images used in multiple locations so I need to use Sketch native ‘reduce file size’ now and again to bulk reduce everything to keep the file size from bloating - it comes at the price of destroying the small images quality.

Hi Mark,

I just wanted to add another option to avoid image reduction on those small logos is moving them to a library and add them as symbol instances. If they are not too many, this approach can work and then you can keep using the native option for the bulk of the large images in your project.

I hope this helps :crossed_fingers:

Yeah Jorge, that could be a viable workaround for now.
