Has anyone noticed that some old plugins are not working on the latest macOS Sequoia 15.2, or is it just me?
My Sketch version is 86, and I also tried the latest version 101, but some old plugins still don’t work. Some plugin developers have updated their plugins, so those still work, but some old plugins are no longer maintained.
I just ran some tests with a few plugins I have installed, and they’re working as expected. I’m currently using macOS 15.3 and Sketch 101.8.
Could you share some examples of the affected plugins? I’d be happy to look into possible solutions for you.
In the past, we’ve integrated some of the most requested plugin features directly into Sketch, so there’s a chance we already have a built-in solution that meets your needs.
The Preview in Browser plugin hasn’t seen an update in the past six years so is safe to say it could be a version compatibility issue. Sketch now provides a built-in method to preview designs in the browser. Users with a Workspace subscription have the option to upload files to the cloud and then preview, inspect, share, and comment on, plus a bunch of other collaborative/dev features.
As for the Automate plugin, this one also had compatibility issues in the past, and we’ve since integrated some of its most popular features into recent versions of Sketch. Could you share which specific Automate features you’re looking to use in Sketch?
Yes, I also feel that it might be a version compatibility issue. Over the past four years, I’ve been using the macOS Big Sur version and Sketch 86 (I’m more accustomed to the design in the old version where each item in the right-hand override panel has a title). Recently, after I upgraded to Sequoia, these old plugins stopped working, and I suspect it might be due to the macOS version .
Automate has many features, but the one I use most frequently is the “Find and Replace Layer Names” function. I guess that the new version of Sketch probably includes the function as well. Maybe this is the time for me to try out the latest version 101
