Hey folks
We have a brand new beta out today — Barcelona. You can download it from sketch.com/beta or open your existing beta build and follow the prompts to update.
As you know, WWDC kicked off last night, with Apple announcing a major redesign of its platforms. We’re no stranger to these announcements, but we also know that a significant one like this doesn’t come around very often.
For us, that means our next Sketch update has to do two things:
- Give you, our customers, the tools to create and design for the next generation of Apple platforms
- Feel right at home in a world of Liquid Glass, while also staying true to being a pro tool.
With this in mind, our Barcelona beta will last all summer, up until when Apple ships macOS Tahoe in the Fall.
In that time we’ll be adding new tools to help you with your work, starting today with progressive blur and, later on, Liquid Glass.
Meanwhile, we’ll be redesigning Sketch for this new world in the open. We’ll be sharing progress on our social channels and here in the forum, discussing them with you, and finding out what you’re doing with your own redesigns.
In the spirit of redesigning in the open, you’ll notice this beta comes with a new icon — our first steps into the world of liquid glass.
As ever, all the usual beta warnings apply: Keep backups of your files, be aware that things may change, and that opening documents in this version will render them incompatible with previous versions.
Enjoy the beta — we’ll talk more in the comments!
