Minimap preview area too small on large canvases

When there is a big canvas the Minimap preview area is so small that it can’t be located.

Hi @wwwedran! Thanks a lot for sending us feedback about this scenario. I’ve looked at this, and I’ve been able to do something to alleviate the situation: you can go to the Minimap and pinch and zoom to make the viewing box bigger, being able to see more stuff in the canvas. You can see it in action in this short video I recorded:

Additionally, at the end of the video, you can see how I go to the Layer List, select the component I want to visualize, and press CMD-2 to zoom into it.

I hope this helps!

Thanks. I know all this but the issue is still that once there is a lot of things on canvas, visible area on the Minimap becomes so small that it is hard to see. Not sure if this is worth addressing but I had a reasonably large canvas and got into this issue. I can still get around the file, it’s just that the Minimap becomes unusable as the area for navigation is so small that it is not visible to be able to drag around.

That makes sense! I tested this in an “almost empty” environment, so I would say it was expected that my scenario didn’t trigger this. I tried using a more complex document this time, and now I can “feel” what you are experiencing.

I will definitely pass the feedback internally and see if we can study something to improve this behavior! Thanks a lot for letting us know about this!

Thanks! Maybe it’s just a matter of displaying the preview area in a different way so that it is still visible when it is really small.
