I know it hasn’t been long since WWDC25, but the new tool from Apple, Icon Composer, has me wondering if the Sketch team is planning to add new effects to their toolkit. It would be great to achieve the “Liquid Glass” effect more easily and quickly! I’m thinking about effects like Specular, Translucency, and maybe even new options for Blur and Shadow (I’ve mentioned this before). I understand that similar results can be achieved with the current tools, but the process can be a bit lengthy… plus, making adjustments, like changing the light direction, can be a little time-consuming.
We’re looking into this already today. We hope to be able to share some progress soon. We’re as eager to bring this to Sketch as you are, so stay tuned
I wanted to ask the same thing. Seems like a nice advantage over competition if Apple provides the access to whatever they are using to create the effect. If this could be a real effect visible in prototype that would be a big opportunity for Sketch
@wwwedran I was thinking the same thing and forgot to mention it, but you expressed it so beautifully!
Plus, it would really make things easier if we could change several effects at once, like adjusting the light direction. Right now, it involves digging through multiple FX layers, so having a way to control everything from one place would be a huge help!
