As Sketch continues to improve its workflows, I would like to see a function that will take our hand-drawn images and convert them into basic layouts. Plugins would allow users to customize their workflows while enabling Sketch to generate additional resources. But this feature would be beneficial to all users at some point in the future, time vs. money; without skipping essential app brainstorming techniques. This wouldn’t detract from the hands-on/user-centric absent A.I. emphasis of the brand; which I value. I think it would optimize workflow capabilities.
There used to be some explorations at Airbnb by their design team (long time ago now) where they used ML to recognize patterns on paper, pick the correct components from their design system and assemble screens in the design tool.
Now, I’m not sure how many designers really do these kind of sketches so maybe that is not the best solution, but having a quick way to build screens from the components in the design system might be - similar how in Wordpress or Squarespace you click between sections and it offers you patterns. I guess it would be a more contextual and smarter way to add components to your screens.
I see; my objective is to cut out additional apps in my toolkit. Brand-new apps that are ML-centric have this feature as a selling point. Applications like Uizard’s “wireframe sketch to layout function” are the only reason I use the app, and I love it. It could be more empowering to the “left-brain” perspective of design, entry-level designers, or UX/UI students which make up a large portion of the consumer market. I may take it on as a personal project, my first sketch app plugin contribution…
