Frames not nesting into parent artboard

Occasionally having elements missing from exported frames because they think they are part of their own frame and not the one that it should have been added to. Works the other way too, where elements are still within a frame when I have moved them out onto the canvas instead. Having to cut and paste things all of the time in case they have not figured out they are supposed to be part of my chosen artboard and not just a randomly overlapping frame that is not nested within my artboard. Today I exported a mobile mockup and found it was missing a hero section, and then was about to export a desktop frame when I looked at the preview window and noticed a rectangle miles up the canvas nowhere near the artboard was still actually attached to it and would have exported my desktop screen + lots of empty space and a random rectangle at the top. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hey Dale,

Thanks a lot for flagging this — we’re looking into it!

To help us dig a bit deeper, would you be up for sharing a small sample document that includes one of the affected Frames and Groups? No need to send the full file — just a minimal version showing the issue would go a long way in helping us figure out what’s going on.

As always, I recommend you send the sample directly to us at productsupport@sketch.com — it won’t be shared beyond the team investigating this.

Let us know if that works for you, or if you’d prefer another way to collaborate.

Appreciate you taking the time to report this :raising_hands:
