I’m trying to make some kind of collage in Sketch, spread across multiple artboards so that I can easily export them separately. Collage elements (mostly pictures) span multiple artboards.
Now, when I place elements outside of the artboards, they’re not included in the exports. When I place them on one of the artboards, it’s exported fine on that particular artboard, but not on the others. Am I overlooking something simple, or is this just not possible in Sketch?
Layers have to be inside the frame to be exported with it. Visually, layers can be outside the frame’s bounds, but as long as they are inside the frame you can export them. A layer can’t be inside multiple, same level frames.
In this example, two layers are visually out of the frame’s bounds, but you can see in the layer list they belong to that frame.
In your example, I think slices can work better, since they will export whatever’s inside them. I hope this helps
