I tried exporting 4 iPad artboards at 2x and the Sketch app froze.
I wish there was at least a way to cancel the export if it’s stuck instead of killing the entire Sketch app and spending time activating the plugin.
Using the latest Beta 101.

Hi @Paulius,
Thank you for reaching out.
I’ve just created a new document, added four iPad Pro artboards, included a couple of symbols, and exported them as JPG (3x), PNG (2x), and SVG simultaneously. Within a few seconds, I received the notification that the files had been exported successfully. Given that this worked without any issues, it’s likely that the problem you’re encountering could be related to the complexity of a document, as mine only contains a few assets.
To investigate further, I’d need a copy of your document so we can try to replicate the issue on our end. This will allow us to better understand the specific complexities and find a solution. If you’re comfortable with that, please send the document to productsupport@sketch.com.
Cheers,
Hi Chris,
My document contains 1 page and about 30+ iPad artboards. Each artboard contains a real screenshot with some icons on top. Sorry, I cannot share the document as it contains sensitive information.
After quitting and restarting the app, I was able to export the artboards. Typically, these type of problems occurs after you have been working on a document for some time.
Hey @Paulius,
I understand your hesitation about sharing the document and I completely respect that.
I’m confident I can recreate a similar scenario based on the details you’ve provided. I’ll run a few tests and keep you updated on any findings.
Cheers,
Hi Paulius,
I was reviewing this case together with Cris. This issue could be caused by the plugin you mentioned in the OP. I can confirm that she recreated a document with 30 artboards and worked on it for over an hour. The export was completed without issue.
These are the plugins that were active at the time the export was done:
Can you sharewith us a screenshot of the plugins you’re using?
Many thanks!
Hi Jorge,
Here is the list of plugins. I usually don’t bother enabling them one by one because if Sketch crashes, I don’t want to waste time. I just enable them all at once.
Hi @Paulius
Thank you for showing us your plugin list. Could you confirm which ones were enabled when you experienced the issue?
!
Hi Chris,
All plugins were enabled. I mentioned this in my previews message.
Thank you for confirming, Paulius ! I was not entirely sure since, in your first reply, there is a mention of “a plugin”. I will run a few more tests and let you know our findings.
Hi Paulius ,
I wanted to update you on this case. After running several tests, I haven’t been able to fully reproduce the issue you’re experiencing. I installed 20 of the 30 plugins you mentioned (some were unavailable) and created a document with over 50 artboards containing shape and text layers.
I did notice some occasional beach balling when selecting and moving all the artboards at once, but this became progressively less noticeable as I disabled the plugins one by one.
With all 20 plugins enabled, I successfully exported 6 artboards simultaneously in 2x PNG and SVG formats. After a few seconds, they were all available in my download folder.
I’ll continue investigating further but wanted to share these findings with you so far. I’ll keep you posted on any new developments.
Cheers
