When I open the Fill panel for Gradient… I can’t close it by clicking outside the panel, like I can when set to Solid Color, Image Fill and Color Variables.
But once Gradient is active, clicking outside gives a beep. I can only close it by clicking on the close button (X) or the escape key.

Related to the different changes we introduced with floating panels, we found an odd technical limitation that could make Gradient selection very unreliable, since clicking on the colours themselves on Canvas could end up dismissing the entire panel and generating other undesirable side effects.
Our measure for now is to limit the closing of this Gradient tab to the Close button.
We’re perfectly aware this is an annoyance, and we’re studying ways to improve this behaviour. Can’t make promises on when this could be solved, but make sure we’re discussing this.
