Just been thinking of ways to reduce the amount of elements in symbols. I was looking at removing all background containers from components and using the Add background color functionality within a symbol.
The only issue with this is, that even if you apply a variable, there is no option to change it from the overrides panel.
Maybe, this isn’t the intended use of it, but I think it might help. Bonus points if you could apply a layer style to the background rather than a variable so it shows up in the override Layer Styles section.
