Unsplash plugin issue in Athena and Barcelona

Hey folks,

I’m having trouble with the Unsplash plugin in Sketch. After it shows “Downloading,” nothing happens—the image never appears. My internet connection is fine, and I can access the Unsplash website without any issues. The same problem also occurs in the latest beta version. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

M1 Max, Mac Studio: 15.5 (24F74)
Sketch: 2025.1.3 (203472)

I did a quick test on my end with the Unsplash and didn’t run into the same issue you’re describing.

Often, things like this can be resolved with a fresh reinstallation of the plugin. It might be worth giving these steps a try:

Reinstalling Unsplash

  1. Head to Plugins > Manage Plugins in Sketch.
  2. Right-click on the Unsplash plugin and choose Remove.
  3. Quit Sketch
  4. Then, visit this link: Unsplash plugin download page.
  5. Download the first file listed there.
  6. Unzip it and install the plugin as usual.
  7. Once it’s back in, test it out and see if the problem persists.

Thank you Cris. I tried what you suggested, but unfortunately the result is still the same. As far as I can tell, it seems related to our company’s internet firewall. Now when I visit unsplash.com, the images are not loading. Sorry for the trouble. Feel free to close or delete this thread.
