Tutorial for transitioning from 101 to Athens?

I don’t understand how the replacement for artboard works and I’m looking for a tutorial that helps transition users from the old to the new version that’s not a promotional video. Is there a simple resource or video to help with the transition?

I looked in sketch/help/whats new and it’s simply a link to the version download page and the resources page doesn’t seem to have anything there.

I wish Artboards were left as an option, and that the new layout were options to modify the artboard.

Thank you.

Hey @aiyoa

Welcome to the forum! Sure there is. This is an informative read: Frames and Graphics: A not-so-short guide · Sketch, and it probably tells you all you need to know.

It’s a big change and introduces a lot of new concepts to grasp. Luckily, I think there’s also a lot that can be achieved with Frames that was previously done with Artboards, but it really depends on the context of your work.

If you have any questions about this document or how these concepts apply to your work, feel free to reach out.

Hey @aiyoa if you prefer a demo and a quick walkthrough I’m happy to jump in to a quick call to show you around and answer your questions. Just book the time that suits you best at Calendly

Thanks for the guide @jonne I’ve just arrived to sketch and that info is very useful, by the way I’m starting with the welcome to sketch tutorial, and I don’t understand if It’s only a demo file with a bunch of examples or if it has a magic button to start a guided tutorial

thanks!

Hey @Timmm Welcome to the forum!

It’s great to hear that you’re digging into the material. I think you’re referring to the ‘Get Started’ document from the Welcome window? That’s a document you can explore and experiment with stack settings, so there’s no magic button there.

Let me know if there are any concepts you’d like to dive deeper into; I might be able to point you to some other helpful documents.
