We’ve shipped a couple of new betas since yesterday already, but there’s an update just now that features a request that came up in this thread: There are now settings to exclude color and alignment from new Text Styles by default every time. There’s also a setting to include Corners in Layer Styles by default.
The setup here is the new default, so new Text Styles will not include color or alignment, and new Layer Styles will include Corners. Of course the beauty of settings is that you can change these to better suit your needs if you want. 
Also, copying and pasting a layer style will follow this setting for corners. You can hold down ⌥ to access the inverse of this setting when pasting as well.
