This is a pretty straightforward graphic: sRGB, no transparency, no blend modes, only flattened shapes with two-stop linear gradients. Yet some of the gradients get mangled in the export – the direction is still correct but the gradient stops are closer together?
When I open the resulting SVG in Affinity, it’s mangled as well, but in a different way – the direction of those gradients is changed too.
Hi there. We’ve seen some cases like this before, where the gradient on an exported SVG will get adjusted, but it only seems to happen on shapes that are combined shapes / have boolean operations applied to them.
So can I please ask you if your shape in this case fits that description?
And if not, could you please send us a copy of this artwork in its original Sketch doc format. You can email us at productsupport@sketch.com Thanks.
Thanks for sending that through.
Upon further examination, it seems exporting to SVG format is not handling angled gradients as expected, specifically on non-1:1 aspect ratio shapes. The more extreme the aspect-ratio, then the harsher the gradient. That is to say that a perfect square will exhibit no issues, but a shallow wide rectangle will.
I will file this issue to be looked at, and apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime.
