Converting Frames into Symbols drops 'clip-content' setting

In the latest Beta (2025.2 (205090)), the clip-content setting for a Frame is lost when converting to Symbols.

Steps:

  • Create a rectangle, and convert it to a Frame.
  • Add another rectangle (or any object) inside the Frame, and make it overflow outside the Frame.
  • Select the frame, and click setting ‘clip-content’. Works fine.
  • Create Symbol from Frame. Content isn’t clipped anymore. I have to go into the symbol to click it again.

Bug is present every time on my side.

Hello there @Jean-Francois-b

Thanks a lot for letting us know about this buggy behavior! We’ve been trying to reproduce it (on different devices, models, macOS…, etc.), but we haven’t been able to experience it.

Perhaps we are overlooking something, so it would be very helpful if you could send us a video showing this in context. That way, we will have more details to continue investigating together.

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you!

Cheers! :folded_hands:

Hi Diego,

here’s a quick screen capture:

Let me know if you need anything else

Hi there! Thanks for the video. It makes it clear what is happening and seems the crucial factor here is that you are creating a Symbol from a nested Frame. Doing the same for a Frame that is directly on the Canvas does not present the same issue.

We can replicate this on our side, so we’ll file this to be fixed. Thanks very much for reporting it.
