I know you can press ⌘⌥C to copy all of the styles of a layer, however in the previous version I was able to right click on a border or fill and copy that individual border or individual fill and paste that onto another object. That was invaluable when I have other objects that have a different image file or complex multi-layered shadow and I simply wanted to copy a border from somewhere else.
This was very useful when that border, for example, was 4-step gradient that will be a pain to recreate. Was this function moved elsewhere and I’m missing it? If not, PLEASE add this back.
I think you might be referring to the ability to copy and paste Layer Styles, which includes several elements in the Layer, as opposed to taking Fills and Borders separately.
It still uses the shortcut ⌘⌥C, and you can see it inside the menu in Edit > Copy > Copy Style.
So, the way to go would be to create a new Style that you can then copy and paste. It will include all Fills and Borders that will paste to the targeted Layer. To paste, you can use ⌘⌥V or Edit > Paste > Paste Style.
I’ve been trying with some previous versions, and I don’t think that copying just all Borders or all Fills alone was actually possible. Please let me know if you were referring to copying and pasting styles instead. If not, we can turn this into a feature request
EDIT: just realised you might be referring to the ability to copy individual borders and Fills, which is still possible with secondary click over the Fill or Border > Copy Fill/Border, then you can paste it the same way.
If you can’t do that, could you send a screen recording showing the issue in action?
Hi Jorge, thank you and your video is exactly what I was describing. I think I found the issue.
I’m on a Macbook and I use ⌃ + click to secondary click anything and don’t use the two-finger click. Just my habit. I could use ⌃ + click to secondary click on the fills or borders in Athens and Barcelona releases. However doing that in Copenhagen just opens the color select window. The only way to secondary click on that element is with two fingers.
If you guys could please add back the ⌃ + click secondary click action that would be very helpful. Thanks again for showing it’s still there.
This looks like a bug to me, I’m going to file it internally so our team can take a look. Thanks for describing the issue. That definitely makes it clear where the issue is.
