Batch Rename

Hi, I’m sharing an issue with Batch Rename feature. Renaming frames in batch is something I do quite frequently, to tidy up frames for export, but there’s an unexpected behavior.

When adding the sequence property in the Batch Rename modal, I expect the frames to be renamed from 1 → n, from left to right. Instead the sequence numbers attached to the frames are randomized across frames.

I attached the screenshot to show what happens visually as well.

Select frames than Cmd+R

It’s not randomized. It’s exactly the same as in the Layers list.

My expectation was that the batch rename reads the order of the layers from the canvas, instead of the layers list.

Figma has the same logic. Interesting. I always assumed it’s the other way around.
