i think there should be an option to adjust the opacity of a color varaiable, why not ?
You can change the opacity of color variables in the Components View.
Since color variables are Components, it’s expected that you cannot change them when you apply the variable to a layer.
A lot of times I wished I could do that. It’s annoying to lose the relationship to a color variable when using transparency.
Personally I don’t understand the concept of color variables being components. A variable is just, a value.
Color variable could easily start at the percentage defined in the ‘component’, and then could be editable without loosing the relationship. We could even have ‘include opacity’ in the variable setting, like ‘include color’ in text styles.
It would also helps with gradients. Now that we can have color variables in gradients, if I want to create a fade from a color variable at 100% opacity to the same variable at 0%, I lose my relationship with the variable for the 0% side. It’s more tedious to maintain. Creating multiple variables with the same color but different opacity is not great.
